The Epson TM-U220IID is the compact tear-bar version of Epson's proven TM-U220II impact receipt printer – built for restaurant and bar kitchens, hotels, shops and service counters where heat, grease and moisture would ruin thermal receipts. Its 9-pin mechanism prints on plain paper rolls at up to 8.8 lines per second, supports black/red two-colour printing and takes 76, 69.5 or 57.5 mm paper with easy drop-in loading. This version, C31CL28102P0, has a parallel (IEEE 1284) interface and a factory-fitted paper near-end sensor; it ships with the Epson AC adapter, a ribbon cassette and a starter roll – the power cord and the interface cable are ordered separately.

The drawer kick-out port opens up to two cash drawers automatically with every sale.
Key Features
- Impact printing on plain paper – kitchen tickets and receipts stay legible near grills, ovens and fryers, and they do not fade like thermal paper.
- Two-colour printing – with the ERC-38BR black/red ribbon, allergens, extras or table numbers stand out in red.
- Parallel (IEEE 1284) interface – keeps existing POS systems with a parallel port running; the near-end sensor warns before the paper runs out.
- Fast for an impact printer – up to 8.8 lines per second (16 columns), 6.0 lps at 30 columns and 4.7 lps at 40 columns.
- Three paper widths – 76, 69.5 or 57.5 mm rolls up to 83 mm in diameter; drop-in paper loading and hassle-free ribbon replacement.
- Simple tear bar – no auto-cutter means fewer moving parts and a compact 160 × 248 mm footprint.
- Larger receive buffer (20 KB) – more orders can arrive at the same time without slowing the kitchen down.
- Copies on demand – one original plus one copy on 2-ply carbonless paper.
- Built to last – MTBF 180,000 hours, MCBF 18 million lines and a print head life of 150 million characters.
- Flexible installation and integration – wall-mountable with the WH-10 bracket, drawer kick-out for two cash drawers, ESC/POS with OPOS, JavaPOS and Epson APD drivers.
Ideal Applications
- Restaurant, bar and hotel kitchens – order tickets that survive heat, grease and steam
- Quick-service restaurants and cafés
- Retail checkouts and service counters
- Ticketing, queue management, banks and post offices
- Replacing older Epson TM-U220D or other impact printers on existing serial or parallel installations
