The Honeywell Xenon XP 1952g is a cordless Bluetooth® 2D handheld barcode scanner from Honeywell's Xenon Extreme Performance (XP) series. It captures damaged, poorly printed and low-contrast barcodes as well as codes on customers' smartphones, frees cashiers from cables around the POS and conveyor, and its 2,400 mAh battery delivers up to 65,000 scans or 18 hours of operation per charge. Engineered for 50 drops from 1.8 m and IP52 sealed, it is backed by a 3-year Honeywell warranty. This version, 1952GSR-2-R, uses the Standard Range (SR) scan engine for everyday scanning, has a black standard housing and is supplied as the scanner with its battery only – the charge and communication base, the interface cable and the power supply are not included.
📦 What's in the box – 1952GSR-2-R
- ✅ Honeywell Xenon XP 1952g scanner – Standard Range (SR), black
- ✅ Rechargeable battery – Li-ion, 2,400 mAh, replaceable (spare: Honeywell BAT-SCN05)
- ❌ Charge and communication base – NOT included
- ❌ Interface cable – NOT included
- ❌ Power supply – not included
⚠️ Please note: this version is the scanner only (with battery) – no base and no cable are included. It is meant as a replacement or additional scanner for an existing Xenon XP 1952g charge and communication base. The scanner charges in the base, so to charge it and connect it to a PC or POS, please order the Honeywell presentation base CCB10-010BT-07N (or the desktop/wall-mount base CCB13-010BT-07N) together with the Honeywell USB cable CBL-500-300-S00 – or choose the complete USB kit 1952GSR-2USB-5-R (see the comparison table below).
💡 Direct Bluetooth connection: using the pairing barcodes in the Honeywell user guide, the scanner can also be paired directly with a Bluetooth-enabled PC, laptop or tablet as a Bluetooth keyboard (HID) or serial port (SPP) device. Charging, however, requires the CCB10/CCB13 base (or a spare battery charged in the 4-bay battery charger Honeywell MB4-BAT-SCN01EUD0).
🔌 No power supply is needed with the USB cable – the base is powered from the USB port. For RS232 or keyboard wedge connections, which require external 5 V power, order the Honeywell power supply 46-00526 (EU plug).
Key Features
- Standard Range (SR) optics – a versatile all-rounder that reads everyday 1D and 2D codes from close up to more than 80 cm (20 mil Code 39).
- Reads difficult codes – reads damaged, poorly printed and low-contrast barcodes (down to 15% print contrast), on labels and on phone screens.
- Fast, intuitive scanning – motion tolerance of up to 4 m/s and omnidirectional reading (±360° roll) for quick point-and-shoot use.
- Reads more than barcodes – 1D, PDF417, 2D, Postal, DotCode, Digimarc and OCR (depending on configuration).
- Cordless Bluetooth® freedom – Bluetooth 4.2 with adaptive frequency hopping (Class 1, up to 100 m line of sight) lets associates move freely around the POS, conveyor and customers without managing cables.
- Long-lasting battery – the replaceable 2,400 mAh Li-ion battery delivers up to 65,000 scans and about 18 hours of operation per charge; a full charge takes about 4.5 hours.
- Two base styles – the CCB10 presentation base holds the scanner upright for hands-free scanning, while the CCB13 base lies flat on the counter or mounts on a wall; both charge the scanner and connect to the host via USB, RS232, keyboard wedge or IBM 46xx (RS485), depending on the cable.
- Class-leading durability – engineered for 50 drops from 1.8 m to concrete and 2,000 tumbles at 0.5 m, IP52 sealed, with a 3-year Honeywell factory warranty (battery: 1 year).
- Easy management – Honeywell Scanner Management Utility (SMU) automates deployment and updates; Operational Intelligence provides device insights.
Ideal Applications
- Busy retail checkouts and conveyor lanes – scan bulky items in the cart without lifting them
- Retail point of sale, service desks and mobile tickets or coupons on phone screens
- Line busting and peak-season satellite POS stations
- Self-checkouts, kiosks and wall-mounted scanning stations (with the desktop/wall-mount base)
- Warehousing, logistics and shipping/receiving

Not sure which version you need? For a new workstation choose a USB kit – it includes the scanner, battery, charge and communication base and USB cable. Pick the presentation base (CCB10) for hands-free scanning at the counter, or the desktop/wall-mount base (CCB13) if you want to save counter space or mount the base on a wall. The scanner-only versions are intended as replacement or additional scanners for an existing base. Choose Standard Range (SR) for general retail use, High Density (HD) for small or densely printed codes, and the disinfectant-ready housing for pharmacies and other frequently cleaned workplaces.
